As medidas de combate ao surto de coronavírus e COVID-19 adotadas pelo Governo dos Países Baixos incluíram o cancelamento de eventos públicos até 1 de junho e o consequente adiamento da realização do XXIX Congresso FIDE em maio.
A Netherlands Association for European Law (NVER), que preside à FIDE - Federação Internacional de Direito Europeu entre 2018 e 2020, continua responsável pela organização do mesmo Congresso, o qual foi entretanto reagendado para os dias 12 a 15 de maio de 2021.
A versão eletrónica dos volumes do XXIX Congresso FIDE (que haviam sido preparados tendo em consideração a data inicial em que o mesmo se iria realizar) está acessível gratuitamente na página inicial do Congresso. A NVER contextualiza estes desenvolvimentos nos seguintes termos:

The publications are the result of the hard work of our general, institutional and national rapporteurs, for which the FIDE Board would like to thank all wholeheartedly.
We are aware that these volumes present the state of the art up until 'everything changed'. However, this does not detract from the lasting value of the overarching and comparative perspectives offered by these three volumes. Our 2021 Congress will allow us to return to these topics with new eyes and discuss recent developments in the three areas under discussion. From the German Constitutional Court’s Weiss judgment to the consequences of COVID-19 on the protection of personal data and the platform industry, all prove to show the dynamic character of EU law.”
